We have a fully air-conditioned Class A Veterinary Hospital, which includes the following facilities:- Consultations - Consultations are by appointment with one of the Vets. Consultations may include some of the following; vaccinations, eye, skin and ear problems, old dog incontinence or arthritic diagnosis, behavioural problems, general malaise or sickness etc. Preventative health care - Heartworm preventative treatments, Allworming, fleas, paralysis ticks etc. Flea Prevention - We stock Advantage, Frontline, Revolution and Sentinel. Qualified staff can advise you on the best preventative treatment for your situation. Heartworm Prevention - We offer a large range of heartworm preventative treatments including daily tablets, monthly tablets, monthly liquid spot on applications and annual injections. Some of our range includes the popular Proheart, Advantage Duo, Heartgard Chewables, Sentinal, Intercepter & Revolution brands. Pet Nutrition - We stock premium dog and cat food to suit your pets nutritional needs ranging from weight loss diets to feeding the pregnant queen or bitch.  We are happy to assist you with the right choice. Dentistry - Fully equipped for routine and complex dental procedures.  Includes ultrasonic scaling, polishing, teeth removal, periodontics and endodontics.   Radiography (X-Ray)  - In house radiographic facilities Clinical Pathology  - In house diagnostics for quick results.  In the past we have had to send our blood analysis away.  This represented a time delay that was not acceptable and so we have installed our own specialised veterinary blood analyser.  This is of great benefit on weekends when laboratories are difficult to access.    Endoscopy  - Fibre optoscopic visualisation of the respiratory and gastro intestinal tract. Surgery - includes desexing, orthopaedic, soft tissue, obstetric and opthalmic. Full hospital facilities - Hospital accommodation is extremely comfortable. We have stainless steel cages to aid in maintaining a clean environment.  There is a separate cat and dog ward and we also have an infectious disease isolation ward.  An external exercise yard enables animals to stretch their legs. Puppy Preschool - Sarah Rutten has been running a puppy preschool based at Ballina Veterinary hospital for some time. Weight loss clinics - We can arrange to have a consultation with you and your obese pet to work out a diet plan. House calls - we can arrange house calls on certain days.  There is an extra charge associated with this facility.  It is often difficult to complete a consultation at home because full facilities cannot be carried everywhere.  Sometimes a "pet pickup" is a better option.  Talk to staff. Grooming - Functional and practical clipping by a qualified groomer. Merchandise - We have a large range of merchandise for your animals including leads, collars, toys for your canine or feline friend, shampoos, conditioner and lots of other goodies. Reminders - Each month we send reminders out for vaccinations, heartworm tests, Heartworm injection. Takes the worry out of remembering when and what your pet is due for.
